Since last winter, the drought has worsened, and the water shortage has become more severe. Even my daughter and son-in-law, who visited for the holidays, joined us in conserving water. The morning after they left, our dog began barking at dawn, so I went to check. To my surprise, I found a mountain of bottled water stacked outside the door. The delivery man was taking a photo to confirm the drop-off, so I asked, “I never ordered any water. What is all this?” He checked his records and said it had been ordered under my daughter’s name. When I called her, she was just as confused. But then I heard my son-in-law’s voice in the background—he confessed. He had placed the order, worried that the drought might worsen and lead to a water shutoff, so he wanted to be prepared—just in case. I couldn’t help but laugh. True to form, he never buys small—but I was also deeply touched by his thoughtfulness. Thanks to him, my husband got an unexpected workout early that morning, hauling all the water bottles into the house. I truly feel blessed and thankful to God for such a considerate son-in-law.
