Who Are You?

“Who are you?”

“My name is _________.”

“A name can be changed at any time. If you set aside the name people call you, who are you?”

“I was born in _________, and I graduated from _________ University.”

“Your birthplace and education do not define you. Without them, who are you?”

“I’m an assistant manager at a trading company.”

“One day, you will leave your job behind. If you set aside what you do, who are you?”

“I’m a husband and the father of two children.”

“Even family members are, in the end, separate from you. Without those roles, who are you?”

“I don’t know . . . Come to think of it, I’ve never really asked myself that.”

Of all the people in this world, how many truly know who they are? Not merely through outward facts, but in their essence: the self that sees, hears, and feels. Have you found the answer to who you really are?
